The Desert Vista Thunder had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Ironwood, posting a 42-0 win on the road. The win was just what Desert Vista needed coming off of a 34-6 loss in their prior game.
Kyler Drunasky was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Lucas Schiermeyer and his 85 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Desert Vista's victory.
Even if they lost, Ironwood's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Desert Vista's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jax Forst and his two sacks.
Desert Vista's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Ironwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Desert Vista will look to defend their home field on Friday against Corona del Sol at 7:00 p.m. Corona del Sol is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Ironwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Willow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Willow Canyon is ranked 142nd, while Ironwood is ranked 135th).
