On Thursday, the Ponaganset Chieftains faced the Tolman Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ponaganset secured a 26-22 W over Tolman.
Ponaganset can attribute much of their success to Trevor Lytle, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ponaganset is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Tolman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Ponaganset will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Burrillville at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Tolman will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Shea at 4:00 p.m. on November 21st. Shea is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
