On Saturday, the Princeton Vikings faced the Mason Comets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Princeton fell 57-49 to Mason. It was the first time this season that Princeton let down their fans at home.
Mason was led to victory by Madison Parrish and Anna Habra. Parrish scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Habra scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Parrish has scored at least a third of Mason's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Yost, who scored six points.
Princeton's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-3. As for Mason, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will square off against Oak Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Princeton is ranked 16th). As for Mason, they will head out on the road to take on Lakota West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mason is coming into the contest with eight straight wins on the road, so Lakota West is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
