If the MaxPreps rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for the Seton Hall Prep Pirates. They have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome the Columbia Cougars on Saturday. Seton Hall Prep is coming into the game hot, having won 12 in a row.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Pirates' strategy against East Side on Tuesday. The Pirates claimed a resounding 77-42 win over East Side at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14. Seton Hall Prep can attribute much of their success to junior Giye Jenkins, who had 12 points and six assists, and senior Michael Curran, who had 13 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 94-54, which was the final score in Columbia's tilt against Immaculate Conception on Tuesday.
Seton Hall Prep's victory lifted them to 14-5 while Columbia's defeat dropped them down to 9-11. We'll see if Seton Hall Prep can repeat their recent success or if Columbia bounces back and reverse their fortune.
