Fans got a thrill when Craig Carmilani and Nolan Borgersen connected against River Dell. The connection went for 69 yards, the longest such play in Big North - Patriot this season.
Westwood moved up to 60 from 100 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cardinals climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Golden Hawks 39-19.
Carmilani threw for 240 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Joey Padin made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fort Lee lost to Morrow. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed 1 interception.
Borgersen was the best wideout in the league this week as Westwood beat River Dell. Borgersen racked up 5 receptions for 187 yards. Evan Hull helped Westwood's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 41 yards.
Vito Campanile's team's Carmilani and Borgersen have formed a dream team this season, leading Big North - Patriot in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Carmilani has thrown for 924 yards this season, while Borgersen has 26 catches for 608 yards. Josh Ford from the Bridgemen leads the league in rushing with 394 yards.
As it stands, the Maroon Raiders are in third, while Mahwah is in second.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, the Cardinals beat DJ NImphius' team 39-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
