The Live Oak Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 17th straight loss. They fell 72-64 to East Nicolaus. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), Live Oak still had to take the loss.
Live Oak's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Harjot Kular, who scored 24 points, and Aaron Rogers who scored 20 points. It was the first time this season that Rogers scored 15 or more points. Farron Gomez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Live Oak dropped their record down to 2-22 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for East Nicolaus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
Live Oak will head out on the road to face off against Pierce at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Drew Burnum and Kular. As for East Nicolaus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Winters at 7:00 p.m.
