2A District 3 recap September 24, 2013
St. Edward's moved up to 263 from 337 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 3. The Pirates climbed the ranks as a result of besting Victory Christian Academy 14-13.
Warner Christian took down Trinity Christian Academy 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Brian Carter was the best wideout in the league this week as St. Edward's defeated the Storm. Carter racked up 4 receptions for 26 yards.
Brock Miller provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bill Motta's team topped Victory Christian Academy.
Dillon Smith put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles lost to the Eagles. He finished with 2 completions for 28 yards.
Miller was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 72 yards as the Pirates bested Tommy Lewis' team. Teammate Tate Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
Trinity Christian Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 177 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Torrance Gibson has 6 catches for 85 yards.
St. Edward's and the Storm played the most contested game in 2A District 3 this week, with St. Edward's eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Miller in the win.
