West Florence has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the South Florence Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Florence was handed a 29-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Red Foxes on Friday. West Florence came out on top in a nail-biter against the Red Foxes and snuck past 46-44. The victory was just what West Florence needed coming off of a 66-37 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, South Florence didn't have too much trouble with the Chiefs on the road on Friday as they won 64-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Florence.
South Florence's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Robinson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Robinson hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lennix Valarie, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
West Florence's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for South Florence, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
West Florence might still be hurting after the 83-61 loss they got from the Bruins in their previous meeting back in January. Can West Florence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
