Baseball Recap: Algonac Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Algonac had won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 5-3 to make it six. They skirted past the Imlay City Spartans 3-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Muskrats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Imlay City, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.43 runs.

For Imlay City's part, Griffin Wetzel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

Coming up, Algonac will head out to challenge Armada at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Imlay City, they will host Genesee Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
