Buhach Colony is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Atwater Falcons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Buhach Colony was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Lodi.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Charles Peterson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Buhach Colony's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Diego Flores and Jose Silva, who racked up all four sacks between them. Silva has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Atwater, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 12th. They had just enough and edged out Pitman 29-26.
Buhach Colony better keep an eye on Ali Banks Jr. He was instrumental in Atwater's win, throwing for 192 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Durrell Morrison, who rushed for 106 yards on only 15 carries.
Atwater's run defense was locked in: Pitman could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The Falcons didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.
Atwater now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Buhach Colony, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Buhach Colony has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Atwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 161.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Buhach Colony was taken down by Atwater 49-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Thunder were down 35-0.
