It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Brookhaven Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Vancleave at home to the tune of 55-7. The win was familiar territory for Brookhaven who now have five in a row.
Brookhaven has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-4 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points per game. As for Vancleave, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Brookhaven will square off against Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Laurel is ranked 36th, while Brookhaven is ranked 49th). Vancleave does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
