Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Robinson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Jefferson will venture away from home to challenge Robinson at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Jefferson easily dispatched Leto on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Jefferson fell just short of Gaither by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dragons have suffered against the Cowboys since April 25, 2019.
Jania Santos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amaris Dominguez, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Robinson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 19-1 win. 19 seems to be a good number for the Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Dalia 'Mae' Campbell was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lillian 'Lilly' Davis was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Robinson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.2.
Robinson's record now sits at 5-7. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Robinson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Jefferson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Robinson, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Jefferson keep running through batters, or will Robinson buck the trend?
Jefferson suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Robinson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
