The Riverview Sharks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Durant Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverview will be strutting in after a victory while Durant will be coming in after a defeat.
After only seven points in their last matchup, Riverview made sure to put some points up on the board against Strawberry Crest on Friday. Riverview enjoyed a cozy 35-17 victory over Strawberry Crest. Riverview pushed the score to 35-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Strawberry Crest cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Durant unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between Durant and Gaither wasn't particularly close, with Durant falling 35-21.
The losing side was boosted by Emmanuel Lee, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Hunter Smith made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Riverview's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Durant, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Riverview came up short against Durant in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 30-26. Will Riverview have more luck at home instead of on the road?
