Midwood came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Wagner Falcons with a sharp 9-2 win on Thursday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Midwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Wagner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Midwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Curtis on the 3rd. As for Wagner, they will face off against Van Arsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
