It was a good run, but the Jeannette Jayhawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Beaver Falls by a score of 47-45. Jeannette lost against Beaver Falls in their previous head to head back in December of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-36 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Jeannette saw an underclassman step up: Kymone Brown scored 22 points. Noah Sunder was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Jeannette's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Beaver Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Jeannette will head out on the road to square off against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greensburg Central Catholic is on a five-game streak of home wins, Jeannette a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Beaver Falls will take on Mohawk Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mohawk Area knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Beaver Falls likes a good challenge.
