The Fort Dorchester Patriots suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 53-28 loss at the hands of Ashley Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Fort Dorchester has suffered against Ashley Ridge since January 24, 2020.
Fort Dorchester's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cailyn Webber, who dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and 13 blocks. Another player making a difference was Kai Mack, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Fort Dorchester struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ashley Ridge racked up 13 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ashley Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dianna Blake, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Brown, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Fort Dorchester and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Ashley Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Fort Dorchester will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stall at 7:00 p.m. As for Ashley Ridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Pinewood Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Pinewood Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Ashley Ridge is ranked 43rd).
