Blue Ridge (Greer, S.C.) extended its winning streak to nine games with a 33-20 victory over
Pickens (S.C.) on Saturday.
The Fighting Tigers were up 21-13 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Ty Montgomery to
Stephen Turner in the first quarter.
Blue Ridge expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. BR scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
John Michael Bright.
The Greer school's most effective player was Montgomery. The sophomore quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
In a AAA Region II game next week Blue Ridge (9-0) takes on Greer, and Pickens (5-5) will go up against Southside also in a AAA Region II game.
