The Axtell Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Non Varsity Tournament Opponent.
Axtell's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Coldyn Horn, who scored 17 points. Horn scored a full 38.6% of Axtell's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Levi Leathers was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Axtell now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, their win bumped their record up to 22-62.
Axtell will be playing at home against Dublin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dublin is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent's road trip will continue as they head out to face Big Pine at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
