The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Atkinson County. That's another feather in the cap for Jeff Davis, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jeff Davis to victory, but perhaps none more so than L'earl Conaway, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Smith, who scored 11 points.
Jeff Davis has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 1-5 record. As for Atkinson County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jeff Davis will square off against Toombs County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Toombs County is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Atkinson County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Worth County at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Worth County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
