The Wasco Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Taft Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasco's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Taft's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wasco is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Delano on Thursday as they made off with a 21-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Wasco in their matchups with Delano: they've now won eight in a row.

Cedes Saldana made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Wasco let Aliya Leal and Jazzy Juarez run wild. Leal scored four runs while going 4-for-4, while Juarez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. What's more, Leal posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Kilynn McCurdy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Taft was able to grind out a solid victory over Chavez on Thursday, taking the game 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Like Wasco, Taft also got a great game from a two-way player: Rilynne Stenderup. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Stenderup was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaycee Edgar, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Rylee Owens, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Taft's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wasco, their record is now 6-7-1.
Wasco couldn't quite finish off Taft when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
