This season hasn't been kind to the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were beaten by Voyager 68-34 on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Excelsior Classical Academy has scored all season.
Excelsior Classical Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Hill and Hunter Goss. Hill scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Goss dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Goss has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Voyager to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Gales, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Pullium, who scored seven points along with six assists and four steals.
Excelsior Classical Academy's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Voyager, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excelsior Classical Academy will take on Vance Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Voyager, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Henderson Collegiate at 6:30 p.m.
