Carey and Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Carey Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Glenns Ferry scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Carey still came out on top. Carey took their contest against Glenns Ferry 66-56. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Carey as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Carey got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Wood out in front who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Wood has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Owen Parke was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Valley waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 65-50 win over Dietrich.
The victory got Carey back to even at 7-7. As for Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Carey was able to grind out a solid win over Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 68-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
