Hayden Castro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Elkhart Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 0-14 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Elkhart Christian Academy got a massive performance out of James Ramirez, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Hummer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
