Flag Football Recap: Sheldon Skates Past Cosumnes Oaks with Ease

While Sheldon put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cosumnes Oaks. The Huskies breezed past the Wolfpack to the tune of 50-0. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Sheldon found their leader in sophomore Saniah Wiley, who threw for 321 yards and six touchdowns while completing 71.1% of her passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. Those 321 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Wiley.

Sheldon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wiley and Bresia Osborne-Henry.

Sheldon pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.1 points on average over those games. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will welcome Elk Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thundering Herd's defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Huskies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
