The Commerce Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Holyoke Purple Knights on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Commerce and three for Holyoke.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-6, which was the final score in Commerce's tilt against Easthampton/Hampshire on Friday.
Meanwhile, Holyoke fell victim to Central's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Golden Eagles 54-0. While losing is never fun, Holyoke can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Central is ranked fourth).
Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Holyoke, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
