The Lennox Orioles will head out to challenge the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Lennox took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Vermillion, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Orioles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tanagers 12-10.

Hayley Hahn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Ahleeya Nicola and Madyson Dykstra did most of the damage at the plate: Nicola went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Dykstra scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Hailey Seelen, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sioux Falls Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Chamberlain with a sharp 15-0 victory on Tuesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Chargers this season.
Jada Roskup looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Dehlia Doop-Blanchard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Nelson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Sioux Falls Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chamberlain only posted an OBP of .000.
The win got Sioux Falls Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Lennox, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Everything went Lennox's way against Sioux Falls Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lennox made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Orioles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
