Lansing Catholic is 2-8 against Eaton Rapids since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will face off against the Greyhounds at 8:00 p.m. Lansing Catholic will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
If Lansing Catholic beats Eaton Rapids with 15 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Ionia on Monday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Zoey Gruber made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Garcia was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Austynn Arellano was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Lansing Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Eaton Rapids was not the first on the board on Sunday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Trenton by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Greyhounds.
Ari Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abi Pratt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Orta, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Lansing Catholic pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Eaton Rapids, their record now sits at 25-9.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lansing Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .490. However, it's not like Eaton Rapids struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lansing Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Eaton Rapids in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 10-9. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
