The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Orlando Science is ranked 753rd, while Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is ranked 770th).
Orlando Science suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 54-26 loss at the hands of Crooms Academy.
Despite the loss, Orlando Science saw an underclassman step up: Myles Gipson scored 14 points. Gipson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Kenneth Reyes was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 17 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They fell 69-56 to Four Corners on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite their loss, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bryan Lopez, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Mehiel Charles, who scored 11 points.
Orlando Science's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-9. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
