The William Campbell Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Dan River Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, William Campbell was beaten by Appomattox County 47-17. William Campbell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Dan River managed to keep up with Chatham until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Dan River's rough 42-18 loss to Chatham might stick with them for a while. Dan River was down 35-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from D.j. Gregory, who rushed for 175 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Stanford Lipscomb was another key contributor, throwing for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
William Campbell has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Dan River, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5.
William Campbell was dealt a bruising 66-38 defeat at the hands of Dan River in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can William Campbell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
