Basketball Game Preview: Gramercy Christian Warriors vs. Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors

Gramercy Christian and Jacksonville Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Gramercy Christian Warriors will get right back to it and host the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gramercy Christian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against New Bern Christian Academy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Gramercy Christian took a blow against New Bern Christian Academy, falling 58-28. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Malachi Tribble, who posted two points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played.

Even though they lost, Gramercy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Pamlico Christian Academy.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Gramercy Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.

Gramercy Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Jacksonville Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January, winning 42-35.
