Baseball Recap: Seymour Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Seymour came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the New London Bulldogs. Considering the Thunder have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Seymour got a massive performance out of Xavier Salzman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Salzman has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carson Staffeldt, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Seymour pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for New London, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Seymour will welcome Shawano Community at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New London, they will challenge Little Chute at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
