The Mercy Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 On Wednesday, Mercy came up short against Presentation  and fell  11-6.
  G Ortega was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  E Gonsalves, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and a  double.
 Even though they lost, Mercy  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with eight  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Presentation only tossed three.
 Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for St. Ignatius College Preparatory's offense. They suffered a  tough 8-0 loss at the hands of Hillsdale  on Monday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory has not had much luck with Hillsdale recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 St. Ignatius College Preparatory saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Angelina Ugaitafa, who  went 2-for-3 with a  stolen base.
 Mercy has  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3-1 record  this season. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  Mercy hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .431. It's a different story for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, though, as  they've  only  averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Mercy's hitters?
