After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Resurrection Christian, the Timnath Cubs were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They blew past Arrupe Jesuit 75-32 on the road. With that win, Timnath brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Leading Timnath to victory were Gretchen Deines and Tiana Guzman. Deines scored 14 points along with 6 steals, while Guzman scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Schimmelpfennig, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Arrupe Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Valerie Autunez, who scored 8 points.
Arrupe Jesuit struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only a offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Timnath pulled down 13.
The win got Timnath back to even at 1-1. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Timnath is on the road again on Thursday and play against Skyview at 2:00 p.m. on December 7th. Skyview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Timnath likes a good challenge. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against SkyView Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully SkyView Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
