The Valley View Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-2 loss at the hands of Henrietta. Valley View has not had much luck with Henrietta recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Henrietta was led to victory by Garrett Blevins and Blaze Deaton. Blevins rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, while Deaton rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Deaton's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Fugett, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Valley View to a paltry 20 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Henrietta's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Valley View's QB won't forget Eric Sikes anytime soon given Sikes sacked him twice.
Valley View's defeat was their fifth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.8 points per game. As for Henrietta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Valley View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Henrietta will face off against Comanche at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Comanche is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
