Basketball Recap: Arlington Beats Ridgeway for Their Fifth Straight Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Arlington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 72-66 victory over the Ridgeway Roadrunners. The Tigers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Defeat or not, Ridgeway got some senior leadership from Demario Johnson and Marjavis Chandler. Johnson went 8 of 13 en route to 18 points and five assists, while Chandler went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Johnson. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Williams, who posted seven points and three blocks.

Arlington's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Ridgeway, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-44 win against Memphis Central on the 6th. As for Ridgeway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-39 defeat against Southwind on the 6th.
