The Hillcrest Panthers lost against the White Longhorns back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hillcrest took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of White. While losing is never fun, Hillcrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while White is ranked 147th).
When it comes to explaining why Hillcrest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jed-ethan Nansha. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Laterrance Potter was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Hillcrest and nudges their season record down to 10-14. As for White, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
Hillcrest will head out on the road to square off against Adamson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Adamson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for White, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Molina at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Molina is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
