Given Langston Hughes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Newnan is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Langston Hughes to victory were McKayla Taylor and Jasmine Baxter. Taylor dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds, while Baxter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played. Kyla Greene was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.38 points. As for Newnan, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
