St. Charles has gone 8-0 against Vestaburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The St. Charles Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Vestaburg Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Charles has five straight victories, Vestaburg has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Charles beat Fulton 50-44. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Pirates are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Charles to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicole Zelinko, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points and five steals. Zelinko is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Zelinko, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Vestaburg came up short against Breckenridge on Tuesday and fell 45-34. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly 11 points.
St. Charles will have to keep a close watch on Lily Johnston and Jaiden Anderson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Vestaburg's prior game. Johnston almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Anderson posted ten points and five boards. That's the most rebounds Johnston has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Stouten, who had seven points and eight rebounds.
St. Charles' win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Vestaburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for St. Charles against Vestaburg when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 63-27 victory. Will St. Charles repeat their success, or does Vestaburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
