When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Abernathy. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with five steals. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Sam Slivers, who scored five points along with six assists.
Bloomfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 1-9.
Bloomfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Taos at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Riverside will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Ysleta at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
