The Springville Red Devils will square off against the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Springville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They didn't even let Hillcrest on the board, marking the Red Devils' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on three straight.

Allyx Haveron made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mary Finlayson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. Morgan Fairbourne was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Springville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Salem Hills made easy work of Wasatch on Friday and carried off a 19-8 win.
Like Springville, Salem Hills also got a great game from a two-way player: Jocile Norman. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Norman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Audree Stokes was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Leila Stevenson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Springville's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Salem Hills, their win bumped their record up to 27-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Springville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Salem Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .426. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Springville came up short against Salem Hills in their previous meeting back in April, falling 5-2. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
