It was a good run, but the Carvers Bay Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Philip Simmons.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmyn Jenkins, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jenkins has scored all season. Jerchel Geathers-Washington was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Carvers Bay's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Philip Simmons, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Loris at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Loris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Wednesday. As for Philip Simmons, they will be playing at home against Hanahan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hanahan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Wednesday.
