The North Moore Mustangs had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Bartlett Yancey 75-50. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as North Moore did.
Colby Pennington was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Austin Patterson, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Bartlett Yancey had strong showings from Matthew Sidney, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Tyler Newcomb, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newcomb has scored all season. Eli Buynum was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two steals.
North Moore's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Bartlett Yancey, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
North Moore will challenge the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Seaforth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Bartlett Yancey, they will be playing at home against the Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Alamance will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
