Basketball Recap: French Settlement Drops Highest Score of Season Against Independence

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask French Settlement). They breezed by the Independence Tigers to the tune of 65-10 on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Tigers are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

French Settlement has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Independence, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.

French Settlement and Independence's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. French Settlement will challenge Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a squad that's only allowed 28.84 points per game. Similarly, Independence and Abramson (who has only given up 23.29 points per game) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
