The Madison Patriots waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Rosman, posting a 68-40 win at home. That's another feather in the cap for Madison, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Madison found their leader in underclassman Gavin Gault, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gault has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dallas Bartlett, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Meece, who scored 13 points. Kaesyn Mccoy was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Rosman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Madison pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Madison pushed their record up to 10-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Rosman, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Madison won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Draughn at 7:45 p.m. on February 2nd. Draughn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 433 points over their last six contests. As for Rosman, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Owen at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Owen is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64 points per game this season.
