The Minnechaug Regional Falcons won against the Pittsfield Generals last Tuesday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Minnechaug Regional managed a 50-45 victory over Pittsfield. Winning may never get old, but Minnechaug Regional sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pittsfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyana Summers, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Summers pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Harolyn Castillo, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Minnechaug Regional pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Pittsfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minnechaug Regional will face off against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pittsfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Chicopee Comp at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
