Wiley Allred of
Royal (Royal City, Wash.) is just the third coach in high school football history to win 300 games and have a win percentage over 90 percent. Allred is No. 4 in career coaching winning percentage in the latest update to the MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book.
Allred won his 300th game last year in the state final, giving him a record of 300-28-0 and a winning percentage of 91.4 percent. He joins Bob Ladouceur of
De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) with a win percentage of 93.8 (399-25-3) and John Roderique of
Webb City (Mo.) with a win percentage of 90 percent (315-35-0).
RECORD BOOK: Coaches with highest winning percentage
MaxPreps has compiled a list of the top 100 coaches with the highest winning percentage with at least 200 wins. Four other coaches with under 300 wins join Allred, Ladouceur and Roderique over 90 percent.
George Quarles of
Maryville (Tenn.) tops the list with a 94.0 winning percentage (250-16-0) while recently-retired Thomas Brockett of
Ansonia (Conn.) moved into third place all-time with a winning percentage of 92.2 percent (215-8-0).
Gary Joseph of
Katy (Texas) is No. 5 with a 90.8 winning percentage (276-28-0) while Kevin Creasy of
Oakland (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) is No. 6 with a 90.3 winning percentage (215-23-0).
Tiger LaVerde of
Kirtland (Ohio) comes in at No. 8 with an 89.4 winning percentage (264-31) while Scott Surratt of
Carthage (Texas) is a newcomer at No. 13 with a 88.2 winning percentage (231-31).
There are 30 active coaches on the list. The win totals do not include the 2025 season.
