On Tuesday, Sanger was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 25-20 to Mineral Wells. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sanger has scored all season.
Leading Mineral Wells to victory were Emery Boswell and Aniya Richardson. Boswell scored four points along with six rebounds, while Richardson scored 12 points.
Sanger has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Mineral Wells, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.
Sanger will head out on the road to face off against Wichita Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wichita Falls is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Mineral Wells will take on Stephenville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
