The Frazier Commodores will be playing in front of their home fans against the Springdale Dynamos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Frazier and four for Springdale.
Last Friday, Frazier suffered a tough 31-8 defeat at the hands of Greensburg Central Catholic. Frazier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.
Despite the loss, Frazier saw an underclassman step up: Derek Diamond rushed for 138 yards.
Meanwhile, Springdale had to suffer through a rough 65-17 loss at the hands of Clairton. Springdale has struggled against Clairton recently, as Friday's contest was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Springdale's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Weihrauch, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and Colton Gent who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Gent was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards.
Frazier's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. As for Springdale, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6.
Frazier beat Springdale 25-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Does Frazier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Springdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
