This season hasn't been kind to the Lafayette Fighting Irish, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They fell 71-58 to Plattsburg on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Michael "isaia" Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Plattsburg, almost dropping a triple-double on 43 points, 22 rebounds, and nine assists. The match was Howard's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Donte Bingham was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Lafayette has fallen quite a ways from their 22-9 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Plattsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maryville at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Plattsburg won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wellington-Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Wellington-Napoleon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
