Softball Recap: Riverside Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Riverside won the last time they faced Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over the Warriors. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.

Julie Muniz was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charleyne Rojas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Riverside will square off against Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
